Football Trials Coming Soon

One of the North East’s most successful football academies is offering trials for would-be BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport students.

The Martin Gray Football Academy, in conjunction with Darlington College, will be holding trials for potential BTEC students during the half-term holiday at Darlington RFC, Blackwell Meadows, Darlington.

The career options for students successfully completing the BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport are many including the potential to play football at a higher level.

Last week Andrew White, a current BTEC student at Darlington College, was selected by England Schoolboys.

With its direct links with Darlington Football Club the Martin Gray Football Academy provides students with many opportunities to further their careers including the potential to play for the DFC under 18 squad which itself has provided players for the first team where their abilities can be utilised.

The course is designed to provide a radical, exciting and different opportunity for young people in Darlington and the surrounding areas to study for a BTEC Diploma in Sport at levels 3 and 2.

The trials will be held at 15 February 2014 or 5 April 2014 from 10am for a 10.30am start.

Everyone is welcome to join the initial assessment process leading to a pathway to a potential career for men and ladies in sport and university.

The Martin Gray Football Academy, in conjunction with Darlington College, offers an exciting and different opportunity to combine sporting ability with modular study leading to further educational courses such as a Foundation Degree in Sports Science/Studies or Sports Science Degree.

There is also Diploma in Sports Level 2 (with football and women’s football). Extended Diploma in Sports Level 3 (with football, women’s football and rugby) available at other Martin Gray Football Academy Centres throughout the region.

The academy has sent scholars to coach in the United States, and assisted students further their sports education at university.

The BTEC Level 3 and 2 Extended Diploma in Sport could also be a path to a playing career in both men’s and ladies teams.
